Market studies guidelines
A market study is an independent, in-depth study into the factors affecting competition for particular goods or services, to assess how well competition is working and whether it could be improved.
Market studies in New Zealand are conducted by the Commerce Commission to examine competition in specific sectors, aimed at benefiting consumers.
These guidelines provide information on what a market study is, how market studies are initiated, how market studies are run, and how the Commerce Commission deals with information gathered.
