Environmental claims guidance
The Commerce Commission’s Environmental Claims Guidance is intended to help traders understand their obligations when making environmental claims.
An environmental claim is a representation about the environmental impact of the production, distribution, use and disposal of a good or service, whether written, implied or by use of images.
All traders, large and small, must make sure their environmental claims are substantiated, truthful, and not misleading to avoid breaching the Fair Trading Act.
