Spotlight on Cartel Conduct at 2026 Franchise Association Conference
The application of New Zealand’s cartel laws to franchises is a topical issue, and Anna is looking forward to sharing key insights at the 30th annual Franchise Association of New Zealand (FANZ) conference in Wellington on 22-24 June 2026. Together with fellow competition law specialist Dr John Land of Bankside Chambers, Anna will open the first day of the conference with a panel session on Cartels and Franchising, chaired by Khushbu Sundarji, Partner at specialist franchise law firm SGL.
This session builds on Anna’s previous presentation at the August 2025 FANZ conference in Hamilton, where she highlighted the importance of Commerce Act compliance in the franchise context. The upcoming panel will take that discussion a step further, focusing on how recent cartel law developments are shaping risk and compliance for franchisors and franchisees alike.
